Mindi Lee worked for me. Mindi is fine for the time being. Try posting some pictures of yourself and looking at them objectively - "who is that person?". It might be easier to come up with "her" name than "my" name. I think it's like developing a character for a play in which you want to appear.

Get all dressed and made up in your favorite pin up outfit. Do your poses in front of a full length mirror. If a name doesn't come to you; take a photo or 2, send to me. I'll do my best to help with a good name that fits. Mindi's a good start. R

This forum is FULL of threads about choosing a name. Take some time and read through them and I'm sure you'll get some good ideas. One of the most important things you can do is be sure to google the name you want when you come up with it. The worst thing you can do is steal another Pin Ups name.

I came up with one. I googled it, yahoo, bing, nothing came up. Its not even registered as a roller dirby name! Thanks everyone :)

I would google famous pin ups just to get an idea and put a twist on it for something you like, favorite flower, something like that.  Cutesy 50s names are always a go-to!

Paige, Lily, Scarlett, Sugar, Paris, Parrish, Mae,.... some ideas .. I know its only one name but its a start :)

Mindi you will pardon my jumping in again, but I've read the thread again. As a photographer some of these pin up names turn me off. Betty Page, Marilyn Monroe Jean Harlow are no overly wild or sexy names. These names did not bring them fame or fortune. It was their work that opened doors. Hugh Hefner made the pin up an everyday thing by looking for the "Girl next door" . Your photo has that quality. Your discussion is at the top of the list, because of your photo, and its appeal. I would be more apt to want to shoot you with a name like Mindi Mae, than Phycadelic Cindy. 1) Keep it simply. 2) use your stag name to keep your personal life private. Let your talent, and sweet looks, make your name the one everyone wants to be.

When I worked the LA and New York circuits. I used the name " Germiah Valentine", somewhat common . My studio was alway booked, because of the work, and my proffessional additude. The models that shot with me, regularly, were know as "Gerry's Girls". Again not a rivoting title. But it was a plus when it can to casting interviews.

Good luck and may all you pin up dreams come true. R

Your pin up name should have some good feeling and meaning for you. Some girls use their real names while others escew the practice and come up with something totally different! Choosing your pinup name is akin to choosing a whole new persona. I know most don't take it lightly and I'm sure you won't either! :)

Roxy's suggestion to read up on previous forum posts is a GREAT idea. You won't believe the HUGE amount of helpful tips and tricks are stored here. I will randomly pick a topic and do a search to see what comes up... I can tell you there's always a lot.

Just had to put my two cents in: While I'm not a pinup model, or even want to be, I do have a nickname. It's used in other facets of my life as I don't want to divulge my real name (not that I don't like it, I just like my privacy more). Cupcake Terror is my nick name- Cupcake was given to me by Mom and then steadily used in recent years by my friend TC and it stuck!. Terror is what I do to people on a daily basis- because I care. (winky smiley face)

VOILA! Cupcake Terror was born! I love my nickname very much it's a part of me. The best part, it makes me happy. And nothing beats a smile from within. :)

Thanks ;)
