Vivian... The most important thing I could say is "be relaxed". On most shoots I've done , it takes a while for the Model and Photographer to relax and start to have fun with the shoot... I think this is true when you shoot with new models or the other way around. One main think that helps is knowing your poses..... and trying different thinks without being told " what to do" . This means a lot to me and I appreciate this very much ( it also helps move along the shoot and we'll get some new and different photo's to use). I always like it when the model has idea's too .... it's a group effort none the less .................... hope this helps FBP
I have to agree; just relax. I always meet up with my model before the shoot just so they aren't walking in with a total stranger. Study and practice poses and find which ones are most comfortable for you. Relax have fun, have music and shoot for awhile if you can. I like to shoot a few hours; usually the best pictures happen the longer you shoot.

Practice , practice :
Look in the Mirror what do you see ?
Hey its ME , how is that smile
What is my best angle or pose ?
Flexibility , some photo sessions can be a work out for the model.
Have fun , do not take life to serious its only a photo ....
