I usually eat my plain, or with a little butter. I've never tried lemon and sugar on pancakes, but I love crepes that way, so why not?
Here's my signature Puffy Pancake recipe (also called a baked pancake, a German pancake, or, inexplicably, a Dutch Baby):
Preheat oven to 425° F
Put 1 Tbs of butter in a baking dish and pop it in the oven to melt while you're warming it up. Watch that it doesn't burn!
Whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of milk, and 4 eggs.
Pour the mixture into the heated pan, and return to the oven for 20 minutes.
I'm not sure how many people it's SUPPOSED to feed, but I could probably eat the entire thing myself. I never have, but I bet I could. I usually split it 2 or 3 ways, depending on how many people show up in my kitchen. It's SO good, and always a hit, although my friends always argue with me because I like it with a quick shake of salt, and everybody else eats it with syrup or jam.
hehehehe i see there’s allot of people that like the idea of lemon juice and sugar there are actually little plastic yellow lemons that have the juice in and you shake them over the pancakes then sprinkle sugar but a fresh lemon is just the same! The bitter sweet of it goes great!
