New Painting!

[Mummy's Little Monster]

Thought I would share this one with all of you! This one took about 10+ hours and is painted with a mix of ink, watercolors and acrylics. The metallic shine in the bomb didn't scan as well I'd like, but then again metallics are meant to be enjoyed in person not on a computer screen!

Amazing as usual...did you do it all in one day? Or did you work on it throughout a few days? Do you always mix mediums like ink and watercolour and acrylics?

I would love to do it all in one day, but I rarely have that kind of time. It takes about an hour or so for the watercolor and ink to dry in between layers. If I didn't wait for it to dry all the colors would just get all mixed up and I'd end up with a big brown mess. I generally ink in most of the black areas first. The line work itself takes anywhere from 3-4 hours. Then comes basic colors, and lastly all the small details. I always without a doubt use ink and watercolor, I occasionally use acrylics. I chose to use acrylics for this one to give the bomb a metallic look.

Wow..I don't think I have the patience and attention span to paint like that..that's incredible that you can do it.
