New Orleans.... how I miss you already!

Hey all! I just got back from New Orleans late last night and am already planning my next trip. Halloween was my Husband and I's 2nd anniversary. We had a blast, but needed more time to explore. Any suggestions on where to stay and explore out of the French Quarter? We'd like to try something different next trip.
