my first time ever!

OK so I've been entered into a burlesque idol type thing, and i'm very excited!!!
Now my problem is:
The people running this show say that they will supply costumes and music! I'm worried that i'll be all dolled up and unable to take the costume off in a tantalizing fashion.

So far my plan is to continue practicing with gloves, garters and stockings. i can already get those off well with my eyes closed. i'll be practicing that with my song (which so far i think is Iggy Pop's "Now i wanna be your dog")

So i guess my questions are::
Has anyone ever done a show like that? (where costume is supplied)
Are there any tricks to getting hard clothes off??
Should i be practicing more than just the stockings garters and gloves??

If you run into any trouble with the costume, say its not coming off properly throw in a bit of humor. You always remember the girl who can have a bit of fun in the midst of a performance more than those who take themselves to seriously. And def ditch Iggy Pop hehehehe Check out these songs too! They're really good for burlesque. Lots of big band!!!

I agree with Scarlett Poppy, if a garment gets stuck make fuun of it, do not show the panic on your face, as far as the audiance knows this could be part of your routine. A lot of performers will remove gloves so create a different way to remove your glove, could there be something hidden up there? Keep it simple dont try to do too much.

More importantly enjoy yourself and show that on your face ( if thats your character) you could have  a great routine and if your face looks like your going through the paces ( ie " what do i do next, right foot out etc).

lol... i won!!! i ended up doing a few routines over two nights. the 1st was to Ray Charles i put a spell on you. then the 2nd night i used Minnie the Moocha. Alice Cooper's Schools out 3rd. I liked the idea of using unusual music and it worked for me
i ended up using mostly my own costumes so i really had nothing to worry about. pictures of the nights are in my photo album.

Judges said i won b/cause i WAS so expressive and had unique ways of undressing. yay! thanks for the help girls! thankfully i had no costume mishaps!
