Mine was Down with Love.

Watched it again on DVD last night and, as always, loved it. The costumes are beautiful and the use of color is amazing.

Has anyone watched Johnny Suede??! This is an EARLY Brad Pitt movie where he is obsessed with his suede shoes and his pompadour.....and his band. Its definately a movie to see 1 time at least. I wouldnt say that it is good but it is funny to watch Brad Pitt with a ridiculously huge pompadour!
It also has Nick Cave in it sporting a snow white colored pomp.
I rented this from netflix a few weeks back so if you have Netflix you can get it.

I agree that this is a fantastic movie!! Wonderful set design, wardrobe design, and hairstyling! What a lovely movie all around!!

All of the burlesque ladies of the site should be sure to watch the movie Ms. Henderson Presents. It came out in 2005 and stars Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins. Judi Dench's chracter starts a theatre. The stage productions/performances in this movie are fantastic!! I believe the time period for this movie is WWII in Europe.

The last modern vintage movie I saw was Atonement. Great movie, I loved it.

I just watched L.A. Confidential again last night. Such a good movie with great actors in it! Kim Basinger looks fabulous in it!

The last one I saw was not truely "vintage" but was at the very least "vintage inspired".

I saw The Spirit, and was mildly disappointed. As much as I liked Sin City and the huge influence that Frank Miller had on it. The effect was somewhat lost in The Spirit. Frank Miller has no experience as a director and it shows. Great visuals, great details, I even liked the bits of modern thrown into this semi-vintage world. But the poor acting and ridiculous dialogue (how many references can you legally make to eggs?) make it down right boring.

Meh, at least the costumes weren't bad.
