"We Are The New Vintage"
...the question asked by many "What do you do for a living?"
I'm not sure under what forum to post this, so I hope "Off Topic" will do fine right now (:
Tattoos have come a long way throughout the years and I sure am glad they've (apparently) become more accepted by "society".
I'm barely starting to collect my share of tattoos; I've been wondering, what do you gals and gents who're heavily tattooed "do for a living"?
I'm in school studying to major in Zoology, but the "good luck finding a job with tattoos like that" comments are heard more often than not.

My theory: If you're worrying about them, don't get them. I started getting tattooed the day i turned 18 to ensure i didn't get wrapped up in a 9-5. I knew that if there was a job that didn't want me because of my tattoos, then it wasn't right for me.
So i model, and i am a Make up artist. <3

Huh? Where does this number come from?

This is a very good post. 98% of Americans have tattoos now days
98% does seem rather high. I've heard the number is actually closer to 30-45% of Americans. I'll do a quick double check.
According to a Harris Poll in 2003 (I can't seem to find a more recent statistic oddly enough since it's been 8 years), the percentages in '03 were that 24% of adults aged 18-50 has a tattoo, 15-17% of all adults 18-Lord knows what age had at least one tattoo. I wonder what the numbers look like now, 8 years later.

I am a Medical Assistant and am sleeved with my neck tattooed. No one at my work even knows I have tattoos.long sleeve shirts and wearing my hair down does the trick. With tattoo make-up nowadays you can work anywhere. Don't let peoples opinions on what is acceptable work tattoos affect what you want. there is always a loophole :-)
