Hello!

I'm really looking for some new hair ideas, I'm sick of wearing my hair just back in a ponytail all the time. My mom insists it's the only thing that looks good on me, which I have to say cannot be true because, well, that's just insane. I really want something that is pin-up styled, but I just can't figure anything out, and I'm really hoping someone can help me. I'm game for pretty much anything besides short, my hair cannot handle short, it's just the way it naturally is. It grows up and out before it grows down, because it's so curly, it needs the weight to bring it down, so I end up with something resembling an afro before I get anything manageable. I'm even looking for dye ideas! I'm a natural...grey. At 20. I'd love unnatural options, I've gone bright red before but if anyone thinks something else might look awesome that I'm not thinking of, that'd be stellar!

Face picture, for reference, if needed.

My hair is curly too, I feel your pain about it being hard to manage at times. But the good news is curly hair, if styled right, has the potential to turn into really beauitful pinup hair styles because it holds the different curls and bump-it type styles well.

Here is one that is quick, easy and perfect for curls- just wear them down with bangs pinned back and pushed up to make a bump:

best of luck =)

Here's a couple of simple do's that would work great for your hair.

This first one is really exaggerated for everyday. You could just do the front a bit smaller and leave the sides down for a super simple easy style.

Here's oe by Kandee Johnson...she does great makeup! But this is a quick bandana style that I do on weekends. You probably won't need to curl it like she does. Her hair is really straight.

This one is a bit more ambitious, but is great for a night out. Very pretty!

Good luck!

I know at some point someone will mention Lisafreemontstreet. (linkage to her channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/LisaFreemontStreet?blend=1&ob=5 )

Her tutorials are amazing! I take inspiration from them like most people and make it my own. If you mother insists a ponytail is the only thing that suits you, try some up-dos. Ive taken a serious liking to lisa's "pinup hair for summertime" tutorial!

People insist I look better with my hair down, so instead of wearing my hair plain I do half up/play around with flowers ect.

Another good one is superkawaimama (linkage to her channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/superkawaiimama )

Hers are more relaxed day kinda hair styles. She doesnt upload as often as Lisa, but they are just as good!!

If you look at the pictures the girls post on PL, they are a fantastic source of inspiration too!!

What about sleeping in pin curls?? and let it loose.

Very fast I just found this link: http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip6412.htm

Anyway I have few books and I think I'm going to make some photos of How, and put it on my blog soon!

Thanks guys! <3

I rather can't wait to try a few of these, I really like a few. Mostly, I can't wait for my hair to dry so I can do these. I even get to attempt some fancier ones because I have a wedding to go to in August now, so I get to play more. I really appreciate it!

Make sure to post pictures so we can see =)!

I'm anxious to see the results too! Hope you post some pics!
