Now I know that there are lots of discussions posted on losing weight, but I was wondering if anyone has any good tips for me. I am a 205 pound, 5'4'' young lady. I do not have anything in walking distance from me except a highway, and that's just asking for trouble. I don't drive on my own yet (thanks to being broke), so I can't join a gym or anything. But I was wondering what you lovelies could suggest. I am also a vegetarian (but occasionally include lean chicken, and seafood.. i.e., tuna, salmon, blue fish, shrimp, lobster, crab..etc.). I live with my fiance, and his work schedule has thrown off our active schedule. We end up staying up till early morning and sleeping till late afternoon on his days off. If anyone has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Exercisetv.tv...they have free full length & mini exercise videos that you can play on your computer. They have cardio, scultping, yoga, pilates, lots to choose from. You could do a different video every day! You can also buy them but why pay when you can watch for free! Also if you have Netflix has a huge selection of videos....I love Jillian Micheal's..she's a pain but she knows what she is talking about.
Yoga is great! I also recommend checking crossfit.com, they have a lot of workouts that can be done at home with household items. Just be creative. (box jumps= stairs, kettlebell=jug of milk, etc.) Good Luck, you can rock this!
I hate gyms so I do the household item excerise thing. I run up and down the stairs ten times a day, do some sit ups and press ups, and lift bottles of whatever to tone my arms
What I do is go for a walk in my neighborhood 3 times a week and I have this little step machine that tones your legs/butt and has pullys for your arms that I bought from walmart.com for 33 bucks, so far it seems to be working. Its small and doesn't take up allot of space.
i have that! it's awesome! i watch tv and use it.

Thanks Lovelies! And I'll definitely look into exercisetv.tv. I have exercise videos On Demand with Comcast, but it's hard to find the space to do it. I definitely want to start walking daily, but I've been so busy with planning the wedding and moving, that I haven't had the energy, but I know if I just do it and get it over with I'll feel much better. But thank you so much! Any other ideas are welcome too.

I've heard that the 30 Day Shred dvd is really good and effective. I have it but have yet to try it.
I actually just ordered that too. I have a couple of friends who did it and lost a decent amount of weight.

Start off simple: no bread, no soda, no eating after 8pm, and LOTS of water. Eat more steamed veggies, and include flax in your diet. Lastly, build muscle, as they BURN calories, even during rest. Good luck.
No bread? I don't drink soda, and the only time I have to eat with my fiance is after 8pm. I know I shouldn't, but it's the first time he gets to eat somedays. Well. I think I can try the no eating after 8pm, but bread? I might die haha.
Thanks though.

I've been following a Mediterranean diet and it has done wonders. Even without much exercise, I've managed to lose weight. Now to get my butt back in gear and start working out to take it off faster.
Eating plays a big part in a healthy weight loss. I'm not saying to make sure every meal is without guilt. You need to make sure you are eating frequent small meals. Never skip a meal and drink lots of water. If you find your self skipping meals your body is only going to hold on to that weight your trying to exercise away. You have to find a nice balance of exercise and eating properly. I know it can be hard to do. I work the night shift and try my best not to skip meals. I have added in more water and see the difference. I have added things like nuts and fresh veggies to snack on and i also add flax to my diet. I bought the 30 shred dvd and have just started using that. I found that yoga and pilates both helped in loosing the weight I have so far. If you don't have a lot of room to exercise both of these maybe a good choice. I have a few friends who do crossfit and they look amazing! I personally don't have time for that kind of work out on the night shift then being up all day with the kiddos. Oh and also switch up your routines. You need to not do the same thing everyday or your body grows used to that. you have to switch it up to see a difference.
