I recently splurged on some new eyeshadows that are brighter than I normally wear and I was wondering if any one had some reccomendations for a good eyeshadow base. maybe my skin is too oily, or maybe it's just the So Cal weather but the eyeshadow never stays put and always creases and it's a surefire way to kill a look. Hopefully you're reccomendation isn't too expensive I'm looking for something under the $20 mark. Thanks <3!

Most people will recommend this and so far I haven't found a better one. Urban Decay Primer Potion. It is $16. It totally makeup your eyeshadow stay...all day, then through kickboxing, then through sleeping and it still looks the same the next morning...

i have a few U.D. products and they most definatly do rock (mmm mascara <3) I'll be sure to add that to my birthday list, or perhaps splurge. Thanks dear!
Urban Decay has the best one ever i think its called primer potion and you can get it on Sephora.com,their shadows kick ass too!
urban decay primer. marissa is totaly right
I haven't tried the UD, but I use a MAC paint that comes in a tube. A very sheer layer will keep my shadow on, make the color more brilliant and also keeps my liner dark.
i used to use that mac paint until i realized that any shadow that has any amount of glitter to it (mac eyeshadow itself even) just falls right off when you use it. it will just not adhere! Primer Potion kicks its butt.

Glitter or shimmer? The shimmery shadow adheres, but I only use glitter eyeliner that comes in a tiny eyeliner bottle. I find that loose glitter shadow is just too messy for me to use ;-)

i know ud is the bomb...but also paint pots are great...but if ur super oily the good oil paints from mac in the tube are for u...a pea size is good...lil trick do one eye at a time when using primers...sometimes they dry b4 u get to the next eye and u reaplly more and it gets thick n leaves a texture...it kinda looks wrinkly...but thats happened to me b4...usually when it gets like that all wrinkly n wierd...it usually goes away within an hour because it oxidizes and smoothes out with my body heat.

awe then i definatly dont want that im addicted to glitter!!!!
I'm not talking about loose glitter powder. i am talking about MAC eyeshadow, an example of one is Retrospeck, falls right off when you use the bare canvas paint. I'm pretty savvy and that stuff just doesn't do it.

I've heard good things about Benefit's Lemon Aid (at sephora.com)... but I'm waiting until I use up my tube of Mary Kay "MK Signature" primer. Only $12!
that's weird because I haven't heard that being advertised as a primer, i know it is to brighten up the eye area, I will check it out to see if it works.

I have used MAry Kay's eye primer before and didn't really notice anything special about it.
At this time I would only recommend 2, Urban Decay's Primer Potion and Bare Escentuals Prime Time (it's new and i'm not sure which works better UD or this one)
