Getting offers with clothing lines, magazines (GETTING MY FOOT INSIDE THE DOOR) ^_^

I still haven't had the offers.
People tell me I look great in my pictures, I have applied and talked to clothing lines as well as magazines some respond and some don’t, some give me advice which is great. Still should I just wait for them to look for me or what?
Many of you ladies here are already up and about with it
Help out if you can
All help is appreciated

Sincerely Vile

Keep sending your stuff in and don't get discouraged!
Post the photos you've been sending to vendors and lets get some feedback rolling. Feel free to also post the text you're using.
when you do a photo shoot: out of 300 images-2 will be KiLLER... the rest was just filler!
......same with the magazines... not EVERY MAGAZiNE will respond, or clothing company.... but the more you apply to , THE MORE ANSWER with a POSSiTiVE NOTE, and start working with you...
.....make your self a word.doc with your "online model resume" send it to MANY sites, and companies...
try it! (thats what i do, and i have worked with MANY companys and publications, cause of it)... it's a fun part time job!
How long have you been pursuing this?? It takes time, lovely. I am not sure how long you have been actively pursuing the clothing companies, etc.....

The greatest piece of advice I have had (from a very well-known person, I won't say who ;)....You can't expect to be an overnite success. Most of the popular, established pinups worked long and hard to get where they are. I am a very impatient person, so I am speaking from experience here. I've learned that a thousand no's-or-no answers will eventually lead to a yes. it's getting through those no's thats that hard part.

I looked on your page, you've already modeled for an accessory company...that's great! I have been pursuing pin-up for over 2 years and have yet to model for anything. You should be proud!

Keep doing what you are doing, work hard but be patient!
You're definitely a cutie but one thing to consider is that a LOT of clothing companies in the pinup/retro/rockabilly genres make CUSTOM FITTED CLOTHING made to order. Zombie Kitten Originals is a HUGE example of this...they will post your picture if you buy a skirt, but she hand-makes everything and obviously can't afford the time or effort to send free skirts to anyone who wants to be on the site.

DON'T just wait around and be THOROUGH when you submit. I just got my first arrangement with a clothing company and am waiting on my first package of goodies from a wonderful designer who makes ADORABLE stuff.

ALSO, think ahead....if you were to get a deal with a non-local designer or a clothing company, do you have a credible photographer that you work with on a regular basis who would be willing to do all the work for free??? Keep in mind that basic product modeling is usually front and back on a solid or simple background, NOT something that will revolutionize a photographer's portfolio and NOT something they might do TFP. Would you be able to do your own hair/makeup that would meet the expectations of the designers and the company? If not, these are things you need to get together before you start submitting

Also, have you worked with any photographers that shoot for print and/or submit regularly to publications??? There's a lot of pretty girls out there, a lot of vintage dresses, and a lot of classic cars; but if a magazine regularly receives reliable work from a certain cache of photographers [which they do], there's your ticket in.
Completely through and pretty much bang on!

We get a lot of requests to model, we run competitions every so often and there are quite a few other (certainly in the UK any how) companies who run competitions every so often for old customers to submit photo's with prize/discount/voucher whatever, or for a new model/photoshoot. They can be really helpful and get you on peoples sites and add some lines to your c.v.

Make sure that the pictures you are sending through are in keeping with the style and tone of whomever it is you are approaching. When a company or magazine choses to use you, you are representing them. They're not going to go wild for someone who doesn't look like they have any idea of what they do (like electro bands trying to add your profile, just why?).

And like everyone else here has said, just keep going, keep trying and keep smiling!

Goodluck

Hey Girl I think you should get some really strong full body shots or designers won't know what to expect from you and be less likely to use you. For magazines you need to shoot with photographers that are already working FOR the magazines. Sometimes that means paying but it's all part of the industry. If we like you and think you have a great look we'll probably keep shooting with you or be more likely to submit images that we've taken of you to the magazines we work with. Hope that helps and good luck!
ZING! Exactly what Ama says, you gotta rock a select few of AMAZING shots. Line up some paid shoots with photogs and start building a proper portfolio. No disrespect to the photogs that took those, but they wont land u gigs.
