"We Are The New Vintage"
Hi ladies,
I know this question has been asked alot but figured there might have been some new 'discoveries' since the last time it was asked......
I am naturally blonde with freckles and lately finding I have a pink/reddish tone to some of my skin. I have been using Maybelline Minerals stuff for a while now and although it's great from a lightweight perspective, it does not do a great job at giving me that flawless complexion that I am after! I used to have bad skin and have worked hard and tried ALOT of stuff to get it in it's current state which I am pleased to say is pretty good right now.
I am nervous to try anything too heavy that might make my skin bad again (I was going to try MAC stuff but from what people have said I am now nervous about that) and I have also heard that Revlon do a pretty good photo finish one. I also don't want anything that looks caked on or worst nightmare, cracks after a few hours! Anyone with a similar skin tone to mine found their dream foundation? I know flawless skin is essential for the pin up look and I am really keen to find something which works!
Any help would be much appreciated :)

Estee Lauder Double Wear is my HG foundation por vida. I have red, sensitive skin and it covers and hides EVERYTHING and keeps me matte most of the day. Total porcelian doll complexion. They have a wide range of colors, too!
I use Smashbox Photo Finish Primer under it and a light dusting of Studio Fix powder on top to set.
Great little system, I've been using it for years!
Thanks Nikki, I haven't used any Estee Lauder products before so will go have a look. I have only recently discovered the benefits of using primer.....makes such a difference!
Thank you :)

Don't be hesitant to try MAC!! All their products are oil-free, non comedogenic and dermatologist tested. My new favorite is the new Matchmaster foundation. It is a mixture of clear and colored pigments so it covers a huge range of skin tones. They're number 1.0-10.0 1.0 being lightest. It has a matte finish and medium but buildable coverage. I am in LOVVEEE p.s. it photographs beautifully. It is the only foundation they used for Fall 2011 NY Fashion week. Go get a sample of it ASAP!

I like bareMinerals; although you need a good primer since bareMinerals does not have a binding agent. I use their "well rested" since I am so pale. It helps with redness on my cheekbones and around my nose. It is a great concealer. Then use Fair foundation.
I use MAC too, and my skin is uber-sensitive!
I wanted full coverage so I asked the girls there what was closest to "theatre" type makeup. I want something that doesn't come off easily and stays for hours, even under intense lights. This has been the best so far. I'm also really fair too, and I have the perfect match.
If you want more info let me know and I'll tall you the exact type. :)
For daily use I use Covergirl True Blend Foundation and Powder. I have combination skin and it is scarred from adult acne. Covers well without looking heavy.
For a night out I use a Smashbox Primer with Makeup Forever HD Foundation. I like that it covers well and doesn't tend to give me white face in pictures.
I'm in the same boat and I've never been able to find a foundation that covers my freckles without making my face look orange. I will have to give some of these a try.
Good Primer and Mac. I have sensitive skin with freckles and I have red hair. I love all the Mac products because they dont make me break out and hide pours really well. The Mabeline Dream Matte concealers and foundations are good too. Good Luck!
I'm the same! i've tried everything within my grasp... but I live in Australia, and we don't have quite as much to choose from.
I've used two of the Revlon Photoready products, one liquid and the other is the compact version; both of them were really good in terms of colour and texture but I find that they don't last that long, even with a primer.
MAC studio tech in NW20 has been the best Ive tried so far, in terms of colour and last :)
I am so happy to find this thread. I have the same issue and will have to try out the Estee Lauder. Sadly MAC makes me break out more than any other makeup.
Illamasqua have a great foundation called Skinbase, a variety of colors from extremely pale to dark. Great coverage, and is easy to work with. Allows skin to look beautiful and hides redness.

Other one is Clarins Everlasting foundation which has great coverage and beautiful shades (most have a yellow or neutral undertone) It lasts all day long, and for a long wearing foundation it blends easily.
