Elizabeth Taylor the original pinup?

I was reading a book about Elizabeth Taylor and how she was the original pin up etc. and apparently they do not make "stars" anymore, the studios. Isn't that strange? I wonder whythry stopped making stars. The book just simply claimed that they do not make stars anymore...which makes me veryt sad. I'm always looking for some star to admire etc. but there are none anymore, it's true. Those stopped in the 60's. Does anyone know why?
