Dr. Sketchy's Asheville, NC

So, I bartended a Dr. Sketchy's party hosted by Corky Bordeaux (she's a PL member!) tonight and got all dressed up in my pin up gear to support the event and it was so much freaking fun!

It's basically a life drawing class but kicked up quite a few notches (lots of booze, music, and laughter).

Tonight the model was Cherry Poppins and she is a local burlesque performer for Bootstraps Burlesque. Working her magic, she started fully clothed and then slowly stripped down to her super cute burlesque garb. She changed poses in durations so you could sketch her. I have to say it was truly admirable that she can look so damn good in front of a live audience staring at her without showing a single sign of being nervous. It made me want to practice my poses for my shoots because damn! Every pose she did looked so amazing. After each set everyone clapped and wooed for their favorite drawing and the winner got a prize which was a yummy bottle of booze, tickets to a local concert, or something else fun.

I didn't enter my sketches since I was bartending so I gave Cherry my drawings as a thank you. It was refreshing to have something so new and different in this town. If you have a Dr. Sketchy's event in your area I recommend you go (you can prob just Google it to find the nearest one for you). Even if you can't draw that well, it's still a fun time. :)

Corky will be hosting these once a month here in Asheville so if you live close by you should send her a message to get the dates. I will mention it to her about posting the event here on PL.

I actually just got home a couple hours ago from the Dr Sketchy's in Seattle. It combines my two most favoritest things in the world booze and drawing hot girls. Can I ask for anything more? Well yeah, nachos... but they serve those there too.

To conclude, support your local Dr Sketchys! Get out, drink and more importantly DRAW!
