Call for Artists for Pandora's Box of Fetish and Burlesque 2011

May Bank Holiday Weekend

 

...Pandora's Box is a weekend festival of Erotica in Bournemouth Dorset UK. Held at the Spyre a converted gothic church. Our first event in August 2010 was a great success with a trade fare and fashion shows from leading burlesque and fetish companies, artwork on display from UK artists including representatives of The Guild of Erotic artists, live demonstrations and an evening show with performance from international burlesque, cabaret and performance artists culminating in a stunning show from Berlin based artist and corset maker Louis Fleischauer.

 

This year we are expanding and have three venues for performance, exhibition and partying.

We are seeking artists to exhibit their work in the art section of the event. Artwork should express sexuality, sensuality and beauty. Dark or joyful. Retro, Boudoir, Pin-Up and Burlesque. Fetish and erotica.

Pandora was gifted by the gods with the gentle arts of song, performance and culture but opened the box that Zeus had sent her to mankind with and unleashed badness and evil on the world. Pandora's box of Fetish and Burlesque is about celebrating that dichotomy.

Art and culture and the taboos of sex and sensuality.

 

This is a great opportunity for artists whose choice of subject matter excludes them from mainstream exhibition opportunities. The audience that attends are already interested in this subject and it creates an excellent selling environment.
