Since we are all from different places I thought it would be good to put together a collection of the best places to go for Burlesque shows. That way if your traveling you have a resource of places to check out, and who knows, there may be something in your town you don't even know about.

I'll start.

I'm in the Bay Area, CA and there's a ton of shows but my favorite is the Hubba Hubba Revue. Monday nights at the Uptown in Oakland, and one Friday a month at the DNA in San Francisco.

Here in New Orleans, we have great Burlesque. The two most well known are Fleur de Tease and Bustout Burlesque.

Bustout Burlesque is America's only authentic 1950s-style burlesque show, recreating the glamorous nightclub entertainment found on Bourbon Street decades ago.

Hampton van Meter and Jian Bastille have photos of Fleur de Tease on their PL pages, if you want to check them out. :)

Sadly, the only burlesque show this town has seen is the one go-go Amy & I put on... It was fun though, and they're ready for another. Maybe by the time you gals get here to Salem, we'll have a regular gig!
Bootstraps Burlesque is doing a show here in Asheville at the Rocket Club for New Years Eve. I just joined the troop! Hooray! You can check em out on myspace for shows coming up next year and I should be regularly posting info here on PL! Hope to travel and get to see some of these amazing shows everyone has mentioned!
Thanks for the Bustout shoutout Nolachick!! I appreciate it.

you know, although Burlesque is a HUGE part of Detroit's history, there are NO places to go and catch a good burlesque show. :(

Don't worry though, the Motor City Dames are working to fix that!!

That sounds SO great!!!

I live in So Cal and the best place I've found is a place called Bordellos in L.A. It really use to be a brothel back in the 1940's and it was disguised as a mexican restaurant in the front. The venue is very intimate with all red and black decor. This place really takes you back in time! In my opinion it is one of L.A.'s best kept secrets!
In Denver, Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret (lannies.com) has burlesque shows twice a week. There are also a couple of traveling burlesque troops, but you need to keep on top of where they'll be appearing!

Yes, it's truly gorgeous, I shot the Fleur de Tease girls there for the first time last summer, while they were on a LA tour.
It's a really pretty place.
