Just wondering if there are any other fans of Brit comedy..you know stuff like Monty Python, Eddie Izzard, Absolutely Fabulous, The Young Ones, etc. I love it because it's so absurd and dark. My kinda comedy!

You've got good taste...Monty Python was so great and original and the Young Ones was one of my favorite TV programs of all time - they caught the mood of early 80's Britain just right...

There have been other great shows too, like Blackadder, Not the Nine o'clock News, Bottom. If you've not seen any of those you need to see them too.....
Yeah, The Young Ones portrayed life with roommates VERY accurately. At least according to my experience..it wasn't very positive. I must admit it wasn't all just my roommates' fault, I could by like a female version of Rik and/or Vivien at times. This show was so much more realistic about that kinda living situation then "Friends" those filthy liars!

I need to see those shows you mentioned..They show some on Canadian TV but not enough!
My parents are Python fans, so I was brought up properly. :) Be sure to add Black Books to your list! Also, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, Good Neighbours, As Time Goes By (with Judi Dench!), the list goes on...
I was exposed to Monty Python at a very young age and am appropriately twisted as a result ;D
This book is a must for any fan!
I read a different book that was more about the movies they did..It was just as good.Wish I remebered the title.

Oh and I forgot to mention movies like "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" I love em! My brothers got to meet Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. I'm still pissed they didn't let me know about that in time.

Simon Pegg started out in a tv series called "Spaced", I never really got into it but it was popular...again might be worth checking out if you like his movies - both of which I do like...not seen Run Fat Boy Run yet but I've heard it is good also.

The Python movies are good but the TV series were better.... Talking of Monty Python we must not forget "Fawlty Towers" for classic comedies!
Absolutely! Don't forget Benny Hill & Fawlty Towers! Heard of/remember The Goodies?

Yeah the Goodies were good too...the one that always sticks in my memory was the King Kong Kitten...
What are these shows? Can someone put clips here? I need to laugh..

Ah, the joys of growing up in an English family.. I was raised on MP, black adder, keeping up appearances, etc etc...

Eddie Izzard and Graham Norton are phenom.

Also, if you have never watched the Catherine Tate show.. I would highly recommend.. she basically plays a bunch of different characters who all have their signature catch phrase- My personal favorites being Lauren and Nan- you tube it for a good laugh. Lauren- Are you gay sir? and French Exam are prob my 2 faves
YES! yes...YES!
I grew up watching Monty Python.

here is my current list of current GREAT shows:

*The League of Gentlemen
*Black Books
*Spaced
*Father Ted
"Spaced" is pretty funny, in the same odd vein as the rest of Simon Pegg's projects. You can see where a lot of his ideas and characters were formed and refined.

Oh! Everybody HAS to watch "Balls of Steel"! Somehow. Just do it. It's a British entertainment program, sorta reality TV-comedy and it's just.. random and insane. Your brain will fall out at some of the stuff they do. My favs: Neg, The Pain Men and Naked Man.
