Australian Burlesque

The burlesque scene is not massive here, well it doesn't seem to be.

 

When I first started researching it I found a lot more info for events in the US, UK & Europe. But the scene that is here seems to be even more refined to one area, Melbourne - there are classes galore and events, but Sydney (where I live) seems to be lacking, I can find one place that does classes and events are few and far between.

 

Is it just me not looking in the right place or do other aussies feel the same? 

 

As usual I feel like I live at the a** end of the world, it is a feeling I get often when we get movies 6 months after the rest of the world, major performers don't include us on world tours (you know who you are, Madonna!) and clothes cost 3 times what they do in the US and UK (even though most of them are made in nearby Asia). Arrgh! :)

I live in uk and feel the same, burlesque scene Is far from me, can't wait til I have my car sorted but then I'll need money. I was thinking of trying to use it to my advantage and start of the burlesque scene myself here but dunno if I'm good enough, maybe when I get more practice/confidence! Good luck x
