Any ladies using mineral makeup?

I have been thinking about trying out a mineral foundation. I have heard that they are much better for your skin. I have never used one before so I am not sure what to get, there are so many different kinds out now. So I was wondering if any of you ladies were using it, what brand you would recommend, and how you like it?

have you tried using a mineral veil powder? that can help reduce shine.

I use Lancome's mineral powder and it's the only one so far that I love. I tried the Bare Minerals, but I like very matte skin, and it has a lot of mica in it, so it makes you shiny. The Lancome is nice and matte. You can always go to the make up counters and ask for samples. They will give you free ones so you can give it a try. Also, have them do your makeup for you with the mineral stuff, then walk around for a while, see how you like it.

all i use is mineral makeup as far as blush/eyeshadows/finishing powder go. as long as you use a primer and the right type of brush, application is a breeze. some say synthetic brushes are the way to go in the mineral makeup world, whereas others think natural hair brushes reign. it's all about preference, really. i have tried soooo many different brands and with a lot of trial and error i stumbled across a gold mine. MFFX, Mineral Face FX, is such an amazing company. they are extremely affordable. it's a small company, but the owner is such a sweetheart. her site isn't the most glamorous, but she doesn't really make her living off of the site. she is set up out in California in a salon, and another huge chunk of her profits from the makeup are in a group over on cafemom. the cafemom group get's first dibs on all of her stuff at a discount price, not to mention the site doesn't even have half the stuff that she has available, so the group in cafemom is the way to go. we became great friends and now she sponsors me. if there is a specific color you are looking for, or a color that you have or once had, but now is discontinued, she will try her best to recreate it for you and won't stop until you are totally happy with it. i love Laurie, she is definitely one in a million.
another good brand would have to be detrivore cosmetics. the shadow names are awesome. pretty nice selection as well.

I have tried the bareMinerals from Bare Escentuals and I love it. The mineral veil is awesome and my skin is already looking better. Thanks to all of you lovely ladies for your advice!
