So I'm aware that a post was recently made about really long hair, but I decided that rather than hijack that thread I would post one of my own.
My hair is not super long but it's getting to be almost the longest I've had it. My hair has been this long for a few years now, and I'm starting to get a little tired of it. And plus with all these adorable retro styles, I'm starting to get the feeling that going a little shorter would benefit my cause (pin-up modeling!) What do you guys/gals think?
The texture of my hair is super fine, and although it seems thick it can be pretty thin most of the time. I usually have to put mounds of product into it for it to hold any kind of wave or curl, because styles just fall flat extremely easily with my hair. If I brush it when I blow-dry it it goes pin-straight, which sounds nice, but it really just heightens the thinness of my hair.
So I'm thinking if I kept it a tad shorter (maybe shoulder-length?) for a while it would get healthier and break less, and maybe get a bit fuller. Is this just wishful thinking, or can that actually happen?
Here's a picture showing what my hair looks like now. This is after not brushing it and putting some mousse in it to give it texture. Right now it just has some long layers in it, no bangs or anything. Anyone have any input as to what kind of style would go well with my facial structure and also my hair type?
Sorry for the wordiness, but thank you so so much!

Have you had a trim in a while?? If not, I would suggest at least getting a trim. This will get rid of any uneven, broken, split, or scraggly ends and give you a nice blunt line. This will help your hair appear and feel fuller and will reduce fly-aways or tangles.
You would looke nice with bangs and may help you to not feel like your hair is so flat, especially around your face.
You can also try this: Blow dry your hair til its dry. Then take some very large rollers ( maybe velcro, if they wont get stuck) and then put them in while your hair is still warm. Spray lightly with hairspray. If hair cools before the rollers are in, then put some more heat on them with the dryer. Focus on the crown of your head so that you will have volume there, once they are taken out. Let them set for a few moments, til cool. Take them out and see if this gives you some more volume.....then hairspray.

You could also try a root lifter product that you would put in your hair while damp and then work in with your bow dryer.
My hair was extremely thin and fine and wouldn't hold curl. I started using Purology Volumnizing Shampoo and conditioner and it just worked miracles on my hair. My pony tail is twice as thick as it used to be and my hair holds curl better than it ever did before. Get a small bottle just to sample and see if it works on your hair. You may not need to cut it!
Thanks all!
