We are having a cover art contest for the November 2012 issue of The Poetic Pinup Revue, the theme of which is "Food for Thought".

This issue is going to be a little different from what we usually do.  In addition to poetry and flash fiction, we will be including recipes.  Not in the usual "a cup of this mixed with a teaspoon of that" format, the recipes will actually be presented in or as poems or stories.  More about that when we open calls for submissions for the issue.  What we're focusing on now is the cover art.

The contest is open to artists, models & photographers, and the rules/criteria are as follows:

- One entry per person.

- You MUST have the rights to the image you submit, and all contest submissions must be accompanied by a completed release form.  (Available HERE)

- Your photo/artwork must be something that will work as the layout for an 8.5" x 11" page.  Overly skinny or overly square images will not work for this format, so please keep that in mind when selecting your image.

- The theme is "Food for Thought", your photo/artwork must be somehow food-related.

- A high-resolution, non-watermarked copy of your photo/artwork MUST be available.  If you win the contest, we will need this for print.  Please do not submit an image if you are not sure you have this or can get it.

- The second stage of the contest will be taking place on our Facebook page, so you will be expected to Like the page and promote your photo/artwork on Facebook.

HOW IT WILL WORK

- Email a small (low-res) copy of your submission, along with the completed release form, to submissions [at] poeticpinup.com.  We will be accepting entries for this contest until June 30, 2012.

- A panel of judges will screen all the entries and, on July 5, post our choices in an album on our Facebook page.

- Voting will then open, and continue through July 31.  On August 1, the artwork with the most Likes will be the winner, and become the cover of the November issue.  In addition to being on the cover and having all sorts of bragging rights, the winner will receive 3 copies of the magazine as well as all of the other standard contributor compensation (which you can read about here).
